Celebrating Clara: A Stunning Senior Session at Maymont

This week, I had the pleasure of photographing Clara, a high school senior from Powhatan, Virginia. Clara's session at Maymont was nothing short of amazing, as she effortlessly showcased her vibrant personality and natural beauty in front of the camera.

A Busy Summer and a Bright Future

Clara is not just any senior. This summer, she interned at Virginia Commonwealth University from 9am to 5pm, gaining invaluable experience. On top of that, she works at Dunkin' Donuts to make some extra money. Despite her busy schedule, Clara remains focused on her future. She has a long list of colleges she’s applying to and has her heart set on pursuing a pre-med major.

Family Ties and Personal Choices

Interestingly, Clara's family has strong ties to Virginia Tech, with her parents and two brothers being proud alumni. However, Clara is determined to carve her own path and is exploring other universities that align with her aspirations.

Fashion-Forward Outfits

For her senior session, Clara chose outfits from Altar'd State and Francesca's, reflecting her stylish and confident personality. She had three stunning looks:

1. A fun multicolor crochet sweater with a pink top underneath paired with jeans.
2. A blue and white floral matching set with a long skirt.
3. A pink dress with a big bow in the back.

A Natural in Front of the Camera

Clara was an absolute natural during the shoot. Her ease in front of the camera meant I barely had to guide her through poses. Her radiant smile and genuine expressions made every shot perfect. She had her hair beautifully done at Drybar, which added an extra touch of elegance to her look.

Clara's love for dance is evident. She danced at Legacy School of Dance until this year and is currently on the dance team at Powhatan High School, where she attends. She spoke fondly of her dance team teacher, Jenn, who has been a significant influence in her life. Outside of dance, Clara enjoys science and reading, further showcasing her diverse interests and dedication to her future career.

Here’s what Clara shared about herself: "I'm a dancer for my school's team and have done competitive dance my whole life. Outside of dance, I really like science and reading and want to be a pre-med major. I have 3 outfits. My first outfit is a fun multicolor crochet sweater with a pink top underneath and jeans. My second outfit is a blue and white floral matching set with a long skirt. My last outfit is a pink dress that has a big bow in the back. I'm open to any background for the location, specifically anything floral or unique."
